Postdoctoral Research Associate

The Ohio State University
Columbus, Ohio

Immunology postdoctoral position available in the laboratory of Dr. Haitao Wen in the Department of Microbial Infection & Immunity at the Ohio State University, to investigate cellular metabolism of the innate immune system (innate immunometabolism) and its implications in sepsis, host-microbial interactions and cancer. Metabolic pathways have been documented to be inextricably connected to immunity and cancer. Understanding these connections allows us to gain new insights into fundamental mechanisms and disease targets. We are particularly interested in understanding the metabolic pathways such as glucose and mitochondrial metabolism in reprogramming the functions of innate immune cells. To this end, we employ interdisciplinary strategies by integrating immunological and genetic approaches with cutting-edge systems immunology tools, including single-cell transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics. Please see several recent publications for more information (Nat Microbiol. PMID: 33462436; Immunity PMCID: PMC6426684; Cell Host Microbe PMCID: PMC6296827; J Exp Med PMCID: PMC5379975).

Qualifications: Highly motivated individuals with a recent PhD in Immunology or cell biology; ability to interact in a highly multidisciplinary environment; experience with biochemistry, molecular biology or cell biology desired; mice handling experience desired.

For more information, contact Haitao Wen at Haitao.Wen@osumc.edu.
